Crank Angle Sensors Nissan: ME570 & ME571 Crank Angle Sensors Nissan hard start, no start Nissan hard start, no start, improper fuel control, pinging, no power and surging can be caused by a faulty CRANK ANGLE SENSOR, this is a common problem with these vehicles. The problems seen can be intermittent and even heat related failures. Sometimes the vehicle will display a failure code 11, but many times there won't be any code. An intermittent crank angle sensor can be verified using an oscilloscope, logic probe or fast updating frequency counter - duty cycle meter. If testing indicates the crank angle sensor is at fault replacement sensors are now available, the need for a complete distributor replacement is no longer required. The sensor connector is labeled with A,B,C,D on its end face. A: Is Key on Reference Voltage. B: Is 180/120 Degree Signal Pulse. C: Is 1 Degree Signal Pulse. D: Is Ground.
