GM Low Air Flow Code
Trouble Code 34 2.8L GM F-Body (Camaro - Firebird)

If a repeated Trouble Code 34 is encountered (Air Flow Low), or instances of a lean engine operating condition without a code present in the ECM memory it is advisable to check for a cracked seam on the air intake silencer .

Located between the throttle plate assembly and the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, separation of the sonically welded seam allows false unmetered air to enter the engine resulting in a lean condition. Repairs to the air intake silencer can be affected by cleaning the cracked seam surface and resealing with a high temperature oxygen sensor safe silicone RTV.
