Voltage Regulator 1986 Ford Taurus/Sable Voltage Regulator If you have to replace the voltage regulator on 1986 Taurus/Sable vehicles, Ford advises sealing the top edge of the regulator after it is installed to keep water from leaking into the air vent on the backside. Use a silicone sealer across the top and be careful not to close up the air vent. Always check to make sure that the ground straps are in place and complete connections are made.
